On Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2007, Pastor Jim Robinson suffered a cardiac arrest. Praise God that He has heard our prayers and has sustained Pastor Robinson's life.
While we rejoice that Pastor Robinson's recovery has allowed him to join us on Sunday mornings and serve in some limited capactities, the Robinson's and his medical professionals, in conjunction with the leadership of Christ Lutheran Church have determined that it's in everybody's best interest that steps be taken to allow the congregation to move forward while he continues to recover.
Therefore, at our voters' meeting on April 27, 2008, the congregation unanimously voted to supplement Pastor Robinson's Diploma of Vocation (aka job description) so that his duties are in line with his physical abilities. In addtion, the congregation has voted to establish a call committee that will lead us in the self-evaluation process recommended by the Missouri Synod. This process is expected to result in the calling of another pastor toward the end of 2008.
Our vacancy Pastor, the Elders, and our Council continue to meet frequently to ensure that the spiritual needs of the congregation are being met. We ask for continued unity, your prayers, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this endeavor.
